The SG vs Letus poll got me curious about this.

What adapter do you OWN....NOW, LETS BE CLEAR. This is not what adapter is better. Simply what adapter good or bad, love it or hate it, do you currently own?

There is no option for people that don't own one... I don't think you can edit the poll can you?
I'd love to see it after we get about 100 votes.

dude, where are all the sg people? Past their bedtime? lol.. or maybe just having a wicked friday night.

Wow, I'm quite surprised to be the third SGpro voter! We may be few, but we love our adapters :)

Yeah I wonder if there aren't really that many Sg people but they're always just the loud ones.
Im curious to know how many people are moving up to the ultimate.

Actually the LEX was the one with the longest and biggest buzz so I bet there are a lot more people with them out there... well that and that it is easier to shoot on the LEX cause you need less light and it still looks fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were more LEX owners even though I agree with those that bought the SGpro.

sg people the loud ones? dude, seriously, use the search function, you'll find a hell of a lot more noise about the letus than the sg. and who are you to judge? in the same post you're preaching the ultimate. yeah like you are not a loud letus user..

before you start judging an entire group of people, make sure you're not equal to those you're namedropping.

Hey , I own three but could only vote for one.
I need one person to vote for Letus and one for SG - I already hit the Brevis button.

i'll vote the sgpro for you...

My quick blunt review...

Sgpro is the way to go for best bang for your buck, quality, good bokeh, sharpness, price etc... The rest have artificial bokeh and other negatives & positives. Though cinemek g35 is the most realistic to the "35mm look" out of all the adapters... if u can get your hands on one. Letus ultimate is a nice product as its better then extreme but again artificial bokeh.... not my kinda taste. Then again allot of people cant tell the different between so it is all subjective.

well, it's not the way to go if you have an hv20, unless there's a good fix for the horrid vignetting issue?

OK Ozan gets SG Vote, how about somebody hitting the Letus button for me.

My 2 centys - they are all good and anybody who tells you there is a gigantic difference or one sucks and the other is fabulous just had bad luck or hasn't tried them personally.

I love the SG look - but "artificial bokeh" is an awfully strong word for the others - I don't buy it. Brevis has more apparent DOF and sometimes that's good.

Ye, dont get me wrong the other products are good too in different ways... They all do the same job and allow filmmakers to use 35mm lens at an affordable price. But it also depends on what type of work you do and what type of look your trying to achieve.

There is a gigantic difference between most of them especially bokeh! "Artificial bokeh" is the only realistic word i could use that compares it to real film cameras, red etc... Like I mentioned and unless u know your shiz... the majority of people cant tell the difference between whats looks good and doesnt.

Proper settings for any 35mm adapter also effect peoples opinion and quality results. Yes, the sgpro gets my vote. But, Ive also seen alot of shitty footage from it. Thats because the majority of people dont setup there adapter properly and dont know how to use them to there full potential! Everyone seems to have different zoom settings, focus settings, camera settings, lens settings etc... Every single adjustment effects the results of any adapter.

Re: light loss with the SG vs. Letus - it just occurred to me that I tested an SG without a Flip so it would be a bit darker with a flip. I would still doubt 1.5 stops though.

What vignetting issue, you mean with the HV20 + SGpro? I've got a 1.5" spacer ring wedged between my 43-52mm and 52-72mm step-up rings, works fine to get rid of the vignetting.

Apparently you probably dont know your "shiz" if you think that the adapter itself has any significant effect on bokeh. The quality of Bokeh (if you even want to call it that) has EVERYTHING to do with the specific Lens you attach to the adapter and its optical qualities. So unless youre testing every single lens available for your adapter, then testing those same lenses on another adapter its going to be pretty fricking ridiculous to even try to claim that one has "artificial bokeh" which BTW is one of the goofiest terms ive ever read online, rivaling some of the crap you hear on audiophile forums and used by companies as marketing taglines.

Damn - you guys get so excited over this stuff. Of course the adapter's screen has an affect on the "look" and the way out of focus details are rendered. Is that technically "Bokeh" or should we call it "apparent bokeh" - who cares. its real , its absolutely observable and its not just the lens.
