ok, so it's only the quarterfinals, but i'm still happy. first feature screenplay i ever wrote. a comedy called "christopher walken wants me dead". semi finalists are announced on august 1st. here's to hoping.

Well.... If Christopher Walken wants you dead, there has to be a reason. Good luck on the contest. At some point I would love to read that as Walken is one of my screen hero's.

congrats man. I'm in it too with a script called Blood Brothers - don't expect to get far, but was also jazzed to get into this round...

Congrats, guys! I'm in it, as well. Knowing my script needs work, I'm pretty happy to get this far.

hey sean and jason. i'm right there with you. mine could use a rewrite so i was stoked just to make it. congrats to both of you and hope you make it to the next round!

by the way, do you know how many people make it to the semi-finals?

No idea. Hopefully enough that I get in, but not so many that it seemed easy (like getting in the NHL playoffs).

Not sure how many they select. But from what I hear any round on cat is hard to get in - think they had over 2,700 scripts entered (which is WOW).

Best of luck to you both. But I believe every script needs work, and will continue to be reworked right up the last scene shot (if we are every that lucky). Hopefully they see potential...

Yep. And a whole lotta nothing so far. I did get an email from another contest that I'd forgetten I'd even entered informing me that I did NOT make their semis. Ha!

Well I'm not in it: but one of you might:

me either. But hey, we all made the quarters and that's something right? I'm happy with that for a first script. Just gotta learn from it and move to the next one.

Thanks for letting us in on this slimchrisp. Bluecat quarterfinals for a *first* script? Not bad my friend, not bad...

thanks ted!

by the way, i posted a link to my script in another thread: christopher walken wants me dead.

i know of some of the obvious problems with the script, but i'm a little too close to it to objectively look at ways i can improve upon it. i've moved on to a new comedy, but i'd really like to learn from my mistakes this time around. if you (ted) or anyone else has the time to look at it and give me some feedback i would really appreciate it.
i just want to use it to get better, you know?

thanks again!
