Camera RAW CS3

I understand the different adjustments available in Camera RAW for CS2 like exposure (highlights) shadows (blacks) etc etc....but what confuses me slightly in the latest camera RAW is fill (how is it different than brightness) and color vibrance (how is it different than saturation)? I was thinking about posting this to the photoshop area but this is more photography related I thought.

The fill slider is used to kind of fill in the dark areas without affecting the black of the image.

Vibrance is designed to prevent colors from clipping as you saturate them as well as prevent skintones from becoming over saturated

Yea, I don't fully understand the technical aspect of how they work differently, but in particular the Vibrance slider is my favorite addition. TO see the difference, slide it to 100, then back to the middle, then slide the saturation to 100 and see the amazing difference.

My assumption is that when it detects that a channel is nearing clipping that is stops increasing the value of that channel but continues to increase the remaining channels
