Hi everyone,

After being in venice for hollydays I decided that my first dsrl camera (Nikon D40) had given all it could, and is time to go for a better one.

Now, cameras,

I have in mind the D80 + kit 18-135 lens, as I have only used nikon cameras, but if you have a better choice in the same pricepoint (less than 1000$) please tell. And if you have any experience with this kit, how does it behave?

I love my D80 setup... but the D200 has come down a LOT in price lately. I'd be taking a serious look at it. HERE'S one on ebay right now for instance.
 
Tnaks for the link, it's a shame I don't live in the states..... I'll look in ebay spain.... I didn't really consider the d200 but I'll give it anoter shoot and maybe.....

Yes the first one is hdr, 3 different photos there. I wish I had a tripod in hand cause I missed some great shots...

The second photos is too saturated.

Now that I see it in my computer screen I totally agree.
 
Hi all,

In the end I went for a D80, and I'm really happy with the purchase.

D80 and D200 have the same chip anyway. With the D80 you just don't have as many pro-controls on the body, so it's really a user preference thing.

Good choice. You'll enjoy it.
