Check out my new logo!!! Thoughts!?

hey you'd be upset too if you thought your logo was perfect and then had it ripped to shreds!!!!!

i'm trying to figure out how to delete this thread....

people weren't trying to insult you as much as they were trying to offer suggestions on how to improve the logo.

I've got to agree with SPZ in that you might want to rethink using the XLs in the logo.
Even if you don't feel it is limiting now, you'll probably be regretting including them within a year or so.

i'm thinking about this but honestly i don't think the bands i'm targeting will have the slighest clue what kind of cameras those are. and if one day i move on from the low budge stuff and want to change my image well i can have a new logo done at that point. but my idea is actually to just target bands that don't have a lot of money and are just starting out because i feel there is a bigger market for me there then trying to make the big bucks... most bands dont have much money at all.. so.. thats why i think its ok to use these cameras.

You don't look like an idiot. It just seems silly that you would ask for feedback if you weren't planning on taking any of it seriously.

I hope you accept an honest opinion. This is what we're here for, to help each other out, and not merely pat in the backs :)

1st, the logo at first glance looks ok, but it smells lack of ambition: is you company only doing sound and live event coverage? The logo seems limiting for, say, fiction production. Also, the cameras displayed are XL's, considered low end, prosumer gear. This might not matter to the average person looking at the logo, but any professional will look at it and see a company speciaized in DV production.

Your logo should be edgy, cool, but at the same time, abstract enough to alow it to be used in different productions of different budgets and themes.

This is just my personal opinion, though. Just trying to help...

(I also agree on the lettering being "lost" in the middle of the logo.)

PS- Love the name of the company!

oh. i saw it not so much as saying this is all we do, filming live concerts, but as showing a combination of the cameras and the crowd and mic as being like, you, and your fans, when you get famous, after we film you. u know? i appreciate your opinion and thanks, i love my name too ha ha...

Nice Logo.

Wings blue gradient, Get Famous red... you already have stars in "get famous" and red or yellow is the number one font color for business, quickly followed by blue... since yellow doesn't fit your theme as much, that's just the way the math worked out.

i'll think about it. purple is my favourite colour. but now i have to think about changing the colour of the name so it pops more so i might have to gow ith red and blue like you say...

i know. it was just so much at once i guess i got sensitive. i probably look like a real idiot now... :(

don't worry about it, it's not that big of a deal. any time you ask people what they think, just be prepared to hear constructive criticism. it's better that people give an honest opinion on here than it is for them to lie to you and tell you everything is great. the key is to be open and take everything in. then you have more information to make your own decisions.

I think the logo is cool, but it's the name "Get Famous" I have a problem with, maybe you should name it "Scratchpatfilms/productions" just my opinion though, the name sounds a little cheesy.

But I love the Logo, really pops out. I would just take out the cameras. I could almost see that logo on a Pair of Jeans or hooded sweater.. lol real nice.

I especially like the hands in the air, you definitely gotta keep that.

well the name was decided on a long time ago and not up for discussion at this point, sorry.. heh...

but ya, i can't wait to get this on a t-shirt or hoody! i'll have my whole crew wearing shirts with our logo when we're working and it's gonna be awesome!

Do your thing....if you're happy with your logo, then that's all that counts! Please remember, everybody's comments are just THEIR opinions and should be taken with a grain of salt.

What was it Clint Eastwood once said, "Opinions are like a$$holes, everybody's got one!"

Love your logo, embrace your logo, be your logo...a logo doen't make the company!

thanks zazacast!!!!!!! i emailed the designer and asked him to see what he could do about making the name pop more. i'll keep you guys posted.

Loved how you bounce back and addressed some of the comments and not crawled into a corner and deleted the thread... way to be a Good Sport

I like the overall design concept if even it is not too original' wings, banner, etc ..

But the name, the type font and the graphics all need to go.

Personally, I like SCRATCH PATCH better.

I have TONS of ideas for Scratch Patch.

Here's a couple, the reinforced knee on a pair of Rustler jeans (as the center of a cartoon... or the "square" style bikini bottoms (again, center of interest in a logo)... or a guy scratching a soul patch as if he's thinking (guy in sunglasses looking up, cool dude... scratching/thinking with one finger)... or two dudes (or however many you have in your company) with their backs to each other... as DJs... with turntables in front of each of them... you could even put in film-reels in place of the turntables. Huh? Not too shabby I say.
