Help me become an internet phenomenon.

Well, Jason started it so it's his thread to do whatever he wishes. He could dig it up in 5 years and say, "I guess I just wasn't cut out to be an internet phenomenon!" That would be a true statement (kidding!) but none the less, he wouldn't be pulling a Penguin.

And yes, Jack pulled a Penguin in the other thread... :D

I guess by old, one would mean "a thread that we have totally forgotten about"

Hmm...this is very subjective. I wrote about subjectivity in my last post, and here I am again. Just because you forgot about my Th Post thread doesn't mean I did, see? So, if you revived that would it still be considered a Penguin? Tommy?

Ah well in that case we can solve the problem by simply applying a scaling rule, eg:

the older the thread the Bigger the Penguin, so if say it was a really realy old post one would say:

"Da-amn! that was one mighty mega Penguin"

but say if a post was kinda old:

"ya pulled a Penguin"

not so old

"a wee Penguin"

and so forth

I thought pulling a penguin was illegal in post states. Thank you! I'm here all week. Try the veal.

Anhar's got it down... :)

Well, this is true. But since the advent of the internet it is too difficult to determine which state laws apply, so while pulling a Penguin is most definitely against the law outside of the forum, while on here there is no way to regulate when it is and isn't illegal since there is no federal law recognizing the act as either.

so according to Anhar's scale is that a "wee penguin"?

Dont ask me!!!

http://www.whoisjasonfox.com - Now updated to September 1, 2008. I'm getting there, people. And spread this link if you think it's funny, please. I need someone from "The Office" to read it and hire me. Even if it's just to make coffee. Mmmm, coffee.

Mmmm...updates, is what's tasty. Good stuff, as always. My favorite (I think):

April 28, 2008 - Shoots controversial spread for "Vanity Fair" featuring a semi-mulletted Billy Ray Cyrus and a passel of underage lemurs.

Also, I love The Office. Had too much work last night to watch it and forgot it was on the DVR until I read your post. Now I have something to look forward to tonight! :)

I hope it's one you haven't seen since it was a repeat. :-( No new ones until after the first of the year. Now's a good time to expose my wife to the original version.

Noooooooooooooo! How recent was the repeat? Damn. I'll check in a moment. Numb3rs was also a rerun last week. I wonder if it will be tonight too. House was new, so that was good.

Hey Jason, do you have any longer form stuff? I read a transcript of a discussion with the writers on the Daily Show where they said that if you want to get a writing gig on the show you have to be able to do exactly what we're doing but better.

It's the very last section of the article/post:
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/10/secrets-of-the-daily-show/?apage=1

I don't know if the writers/producers on The Office share the same sentiment, but I'd say there's a chance.

best of luck,
davide
