AOF (Action On Film) Festival - Who's going?

Norm Sanders

So I finally landed my plane ticket, and rental car, and am about to book the hotel. I've got a client I have to visit in Orange on the 31st, about 45 minutes from Pasadena, and I'm trying to gauge who all will be around the night of the 30th and 31st to determine how close I want to get my hotel to Pasadena, etc.

I'm also still up in the air about buying the $150 dinner ticket to the award ceremony, as I'll be coming by myself, and would probably enjoy it more knowing there would be other DVXuser's there as well (also for the party on the 30th). BERILN has been nominated for 3 awards at this particular fest.

So, I fly into Burbank around 8pm on the 30th, and don't fly back out until about 2pm on the 1st of August.

Who's in town, who's going to that festival, who specifically is planning on attending the awards dinner, etc.?

You have my cell # Norm? I am planning on being there those days... for sure. Welcome to the Party is showing the night of the 30th.

I've got a ticket to the dinner/awards show as well. Looking forward to meeting you!

Well, alright, as long as you're there Brandon, I'll buy me a ticket! :) I usually dress only business casual to my meetings, however, so I'll have to see what I can bring that won't wrinkle too badly (hate traveling with suites/jackets) and can still make a good appearance at that shin-dig.

Hopefully I can get there in time to see WTP before it screens on the 30th.

Oh, and Tom, just go to www.aoffest.com and you should be able to find information out on all the various parties, locations, times, etc. At least I'm hoping so, because that's where I'll have to get my information as well!

The parties after the screenings every night are likely either free, or will have a cover charge to get in, though I'm sure you'll still have to pay for drinks, etc.

The awards dinner is $150 per person, black tie event, though I know I won't be bringing a tux to the party.

Oh cool, John Savage will be there. He's a funny dude... we did an acting gig together. Well, I had no dialog, but I have officially worked with the guy...

I'm trying to find the party info. All I see for the 30th is the writer's award ceremony...

Looking forward to meeting you Norm!

And me too, right. Me too Bricey.

(sigh) I'm never going to meet you.

I've got a film, I worked on as an 'additional' Director of Photography, at the Action On Film Festival. It's playing Wednesday July 30th at 4pm in theater two! I won't be going but some crew members and director will be there!

It's one of the films titled 'Reflection'

Lol, you guys are hilarious.

Tom, most festivals ALWAYS have a party open to all the filmmakers, etc. every single night, typically after the final screening. I can't imagine that AOF would be any different ... especially since I believe I read that EVERY single night they were going to have a party. If I find where I read it, I'll post a link here.

Here you go, Norm...from the email you received from aof:
There are parties scheduled every night of the week at Gordon Biersh, Vertical Bar, Mojitos and more. You will be given instructions and information for all of the events when you check in. Please note that the Friday Night Party will be adjacent to the Laemmle Theater at Gordon Biersh. Come meet some fantastic filmmakers and writers, have some free drinks and don't forget to ask for your free Maduro or Monte Cristo cigars from AOF Sponsor Altadis USA.
