What I mean, I know a lot of you have gone through casting calls. Is there a way to create an actors database or referal thread for great acting finds. People must be keeping contact info of actors that didn't quite get the role but were still amazing, or actors that got the role and are amazing..

A great starting point would be to begin with the talent seen in the dvxuser fest competitions.. perhaps even this thread would be a good start.. list their contact info and headshots with a link to their demo reels or the short(s) they appeared in.

just an idea..

I think IMDB may be beyond many Indie or student filmmakers.

I maintain one. Where do you live and what do you need? I'll gladly help you out if I can. Free of course!

Film schools also have them. Problem is, many actors complain there isn't enough work, even free work to build a reel or resume, but then never respond to casting calls or show up.

Tough lot.

It's probably a good idea to let people know where you are located when you're asking a question like this. Not everyone is prepared to travel or pay actors to travel.

Hi Alex, I'm in San Diego, CA. We're about to go into storyboarding and concept phase. We'll be looking for actors in a month or two, one male and two females - mid 20's to early 30's.

thanks!
