Dan Reed "The Great Dictator" music video!

Yeah those are stock images. But they are still images not moving images...Thanks can't wait to show you guys!

Ha, haven't crossed to 3D programs yet...always been interested...seems like a whole nother world though....Any idea of a good starter program? Maya or Cinema4D? or i dunno...can't wait to show you guys...I've been really pleased with how this footage has come out...Shooting on the HPX2000 as opposed to the HVX definately helped with grain/color.

Man I wish I could get my hands on HPX2000 much less a HVX I have still have DVX for now. Can't wait to see your video.

As for a good starter 3d program you can't go wrong with Cinema 4D. I've had for a few months now and it is really powerful. C4D also has the best interation with AE. Especially for motion graphics work make sure to get the "mograph" module with it. I"ve never used Maya but I hear it is a lot harder to learn. Cinema's interface is very intutive! I've used lightwave before its very powerful as well but I much prefer Cinema.

If I were to chose it would be Cinema or 3DS Max.

Hey guys,
just so you know, we will be posting the video on the net sometime this week...so keep a lookout on here for the link. Its been done for over a month, just figuring logistics/business side of things involved with the video (not in my hands). It will come as a free download as well on www.danreed.com

More on this later this week fellas! Im excited to show you!

In the meantime, check out a gallery of behind the scenes i posted:

It's an interesting video. Nothing groundbreaking in terms of execution, but it serves the song. Would have like to seen more a narrative arc as it gets slow in areas, especially once the imagery kinda sets in.

I'm not too sure about the glowing vines either. I didn't see why they were there and what purpose they served.

Overall, I like the video in that it does what it does well. The production quality is up there, good stock footage choices, the Chaplain footage is a nice touch.
