Chris Beller

Kessler Crane
We are excited to announce the release of our first remote pan/tilt head, the Kessler AXIS Pan / Tilt System. Designed for the lighter-weight prosumer video cameras on the market today, the AXIS supports cameras weighing up to 10 pounds and 19 inches in length (to be able to achieve 360 rotation). Features include 360 degree rotation, high torque motors, variable speed joystick control and more.

Visit the AXIS page of our website for more info, pictures, & demo clip. Thanks!

Still interested in seeing what kind of package prices you guys come up with, regarding the crane + kpod and now the AXIS. I know you mentioned on another thread that you guys were going to be putting some packages together. Hopefully your website will be updated with that soon.

Lookin great. I always loved my Kessler, now this makes it even better.

very cool! a few questions..

How is it powered? Can it run of DC?
Can you swap the gears to get a faster/slower rotation?

Yeah, we are discussing how we want to put together the package deals. There are so many configuration options, we need to make sure we don't make it too confusing for all of us.

12volt DC motors, but it comes with an AC adapter cord. We are working on a DC power cord to go with it as well. No ETA on that at the moment though.

You can not swap out the gears. You can control the speed of rotation with the movement of the joystick.

Hey Chris -

Do you know whether the Axis is the replacement to the Hydra Turret or is the Hydra Turret still in developement?

Hi Joel -

The AXIS is our first official entry into the remote pan/tilt head market. We wanted to be able to release a quality remote pan / tilt head system in the $1000USD price range.

The Hydra-Turret project has been tabled for now. We were not totally satisfied with it's performance during testing, and did not want to release a subpar product. To do it right, would have made the price much much higher than the price point we were targeting, so we decided to table the project for now. We may go back and do further development on the Hydra-Turret at some point, but right now our focus is on developing and releasing the other products in our pipeline, like the K-Pod, Hercules 2.0, and now the AXIS...and we have more in the works. :)

Sorry for the long winded reply.

Thanks for the info Chris!

Was looking forward to the Hydra Turret because of power flexibility but if you guys aren't releasing it soon, I will most likely order an Axis... and a really huge battery :)
