Hi
I have an M2 adaptor along with all its accessories. And i purchased the MicroX to use on my HVX.
The MicroX is the new HD Acromat + Flip tool to work on SD/HD Cameras.
The MicroX is attached to HVX. And then the M2 is attached to MicroX. Finally, the 35mm lens sits on the M2.
Now, during setup, i have to zoom into about 88 on the HVX to get a full frame through the M2. And i have to focus at about z95 to get the ground glass in focus.
The picture looks great. Hardly notice the light loss. The problem i am facing is that this setup produces extreme shallow DOF. The best i can do is about a foot deep depending on the lens and how far/near i am from the subject.
I have tried bringing the f-stop down on both, HVX and 35mm Lens but that still does not make the DOF any deeper.
It looks like the setup is great for music videos or Ads but it wouldn't work for a live action short/feature.
Has anyone used this setup? HOw do i get a deeper/longer DOF? I need something that is at least 3 to 4 feet.
What can i do to fix this problem?
Please advise. Many thanks
BTW- I sent these questions to the guys that designed the tools and there has been no response
