What's the secret to a kick-arse AE windows machine?

RAM? I have 4 GB

Processor? Xeon X3210 (quad-core)

Graphics Card? nVidia Quadro FX 3500

I'm dealing with huge 4K files, maybe that's the issue. Just very very slow, even just to drag the timeline indicator across the timeline (and I'm in 1/4 resolution).

Is there a kick-arse machine configuration that would eat these files for breakfast?
 
heheh. yeah, i've found proxies to get wonky when doing timewarps, but you're right, I should really remember to do that more often!!! I'm gonna re-visit the proxy. Cheaper than a Red Boxx for $34,000!
