Any Experience With This Lights and Company?

According to Richard at Cool lights.. They are not as good as his. lol
I do not have first hand experience with them.

Their 4 and 6 bank flos appear to be of the exact same manufacturer as FloLights.
When the 4 bank from StevenStudio gets here will compare to my 2 bank FloLight and report back. So far, great on communication.

It's definitely not ;-)

Actually what I said was that I couldn't come to a deal that made sense with that factory that Steven's Studio deals with, so we chose another. For instance I couldn't get them to make the CL-MF0150 for me at a price I thought made sense so we rejected working with them. If I hadn't been persistent we wouldn't have that model at all nor would we have it at the price we do offer it at. That's when we chose another competing factory that allows me more control in the process. We only work with manufacturing partners here that are highly flexible and open to our designs and ideas.

As for Steven's Studio, they are nothing but a dealer out of Shanghai for that factory and I would have no reason to deal with them at all since we don't deal through middle men to keep overhead low.

Thus, Steven Studio's products are different from what we are selling since they deal with the other competing factory to the one we chose. The flos Steven Studio sells are also from a different source than we use and are simply the Lishuai Yuyao models that so many sell (flolights, photodiox, etc).

Again, Lishuai Yuyao is another factory I talked to early on for our fluorescent model ideas, but rejected because I didn't like their product all that much and we didn't have the control there we demand with our other manufacturing partners. That same factory also makes the 500 LED panel that flolights is selling.

As Richard confirms above, the StevenStudio and FloLight flos are definitely of the same manufacturer.

This whole sending from China thing doesn't work very well in actual practice because of the higher shipping. It would be interesting to hear how long it takes for a fixture to make it to Europe or USA because it looks like he's using the really cheap, slow "air mail" method with no tracking numbers. Normally those can take 3 weeks or so based on our research.

I noticed they carry another model flo too which could literally be from anywhere in China as it is a very commonly found and copied model by so many factories. They refer to it as "Kino Flo" on Steven's Studio listings, but it doesn't look like anything Kino Flo makes though.

The 4-bank I just received is called the DSR-4 by StevenStudio and is the exact same unit as the FloLight FB220. The shipping is relatively steep, i.e. $105 but I got the unit for $189 for a total of $294 shipped (without bulbs). Payment went through on Wednesday, June 18 and I received it Thursday, June 26. Not bad, one week shipped from China and communication was great. Packaging could have been better, a couple of crushed spring clips but overall $294 + $100 in bulbs ($394) seems like a fair deal as compared to $499 + shipping. If I had paid $500+ for this unit I would definitely have felt ripped off.

I agree, I would feel terribly cheated to have paid $500 for that model too. I think you paid what its really worth and this is why we don't carry that model as I had the same reaction to it. How are the barndoors? The models I've seen here are pretty flimsy.
