Where'd you get that? Is that the best deal out there?

Dont' forget too that with that version, the plug on tx is pretty much worthless since it doesn't do phantom power. You have to upgrade to the 500 model to get phantom (if I remember correctly).

Phil

for extara 100 get spare transmitter which can be mouted direcly on mixer output doesnt sound bad :-)
not to mention it could be direcly sticked into phantom powe box on your belt

or if you find deneckey power suply which where mounted inside the k-tek boom - directly to the boom

Okay, so worthless was too strong a word - the 100 series version does not provide phantom power for those microphones that require it.

There. :-)

Phil

worthless is not , sounds wise - yes :-)
by he way- 578 is the new price as last yer they sold it for 530 and the regullar set for 425

Got a quick question as I'm not an expert on audio yet.. ;)

I produce a new web show and we were about to purchase the ew G2 100 combo system (B&H Link) as mentioned in this thread. Before now I totally overlooked phantom power.

So I guess the SKP100G2 doesn't have phantom power? What does that mean? Does that limit me to certain types of mics and is that a huge disadvantage to me? My understanding right now is that most handheld mics don't even require phantom power.

Please let me know as this could be a deal breaker for me.

The SKP 100 G2 will work with dynamic mics and condenser mics that have an internal battery (like the K6 series).

It will not work with mics that require 48V phantom power (unless you put an in-line battery phantom power unit between the mic. and transmitter). For that you would need the SKP 500 G2 (but the SKP 500 will still work with an ew 100 series system).
