How I learned english....

well, I started studying in class, then when I started getting interested in filmmaking I realized that i would really need to know english, so I started reading forums (this one of course), watching films in english, going to english academy, and going to enlgand in summer.... that's mostly how I learned english....

Now, here I am, writing in english....

Well wasn't born in the UK, but was raised in the UK my whole life, so not sure if I'm technically classed as a native speaker or not.

I learned English as a young child when I realized that I lived in America and everyone around me was speaking it.

But in all seriousness, there are a lot of non-native speakers here and I think it is great. I worked with one for TimeFest, in fact, and wrote a script which he translated into his native language and then gave subtitles.

I be raised in Brooklyn and I still can't speak English right.

Grammar. Ha! What's funny is most Americans today don't know **** about English Grammar. I know some young girls who came here from Germany for school and are better in English grammar than most others in this country. I can speak it and I can write it in a way that is understandable and I am happy about that.
