I want one of these

Blech. Fords. :zombie_smiley:

but on a similar note, I used to have a 70 Camaro with a built 383, headers and dual Flomasters - sucker was loud - and I'd use the engine as a horn. If I was going through a parking lot and people were taking their own sweet time walking in front of me, I'd rev and watch them scatter.

Haha. You don't like Fords? Fords are all my Grandpa used to buy, although I have never had one. Right now there are two vehicles sitting in my driveway: a 2003 Chevy TrailBlazer and a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.

Oh, how I love muscle cars...

My dream weekend car is a Chevelle with the 396ci V8, with a 12k black paint job, big fat tires in the back that give it that aggressive stance where you have the rear axle about 1.5 to 2.5 inches higher than the front, all original looking with one of those radios that are hidden or that use on of the old style AM FM radio faces, also with an upgraded AC if necessary, upgraded independent suspension, and then ALL motor, but ALL done up! bored out cylinders, valve ports, all balanced and new piston heads and connecting rods going to a kick a$$ transmission and rear end... and OF COURSE, real aggressive cams!!! as far as you can go with it being completely reliable, but with that irregular heart beat PO PO POM POM PO PO PO PO POM!! A Ferrari eater!

(Also inspired by my grand pa's Chevelles)

Not to make that an car thread but talking about loud pipes,

Got a 41 Chevy with a pretty hopped up Stovebolt (Inline6) and dual Cherry Bombs.

Here is a little film where we did running in tha new engine.

And, YES all those photos where taken in the last years, not in the 50s.

I was going to do that to my SUV. Take off the sidesteps, pump it up...

As far as the radio and stuff, my T/A has an 8-Track and AM/FM dial and I am going to keep it that way. I may buy an 8-Track to Casette adapter so that I can connect my iPod with my casette adapter and have one adapterific music system.

Frank,

That't very nice. Those pictures are great.

8-Track rules!

yea, nice sounding cars don't need radios :)

or you could have the radio stay and hide a new head unit in the glove-box, that also does the trick if you don't switch CD/DVD's that often, you just use the remote, or just put it under the driver's seat.

I never had a tripped out car. But as a kid I had a metallic gold 3 speed shift CCM bicycle with a bannana seat, monkey bars and had hockey cards inside the spoke wheels held with a wooden cloths pin to make that 'brrrrrrrr' sound.
AND a real working headlight and taillight. I rocked.

hehe... yea, sorry about my haxxoring

Nah, I wasn't condeming you. In fact, if it was anyone's fault it was probably mine. At least we are having a good discussion. And besides, I think the train horn people have talked the hell out of that anyway. Now on to cool cars.

Or perhaps vehicles in general:

SAWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!! You were a real pimp! (Can I say that?)

Then you be dammed Penguin! you are the traitor haxxorer!

I agree, there is a shelf life for threads like this one and now we own it... you want it back horn guys? Come get it! We'll beat your horn down into a flat aluminum soda can with our drive shafts...

Raptor, you were hard-core from a young age and now you have Stevo on your Avvy... you still rock!

lol. hehe, just to keep a story going... On to high school, around 15 then, not old enough for a licence, where my girlfriend was attending the Catholic school next block down.
I'd borrow the keys from my brother, who had a 250 kawi, or was that the cool custom painted Honda, not sure now, pick her up, skip school and head 30 miles south to the Lake (Ontario). No shoes. Lots of burned ankles in those days.

Good times.

She had bigger boobs than Dolly Parton, or damn close. I remember ol fkrs looking at her, and didn't think much of it at the time. Nowdays, I'd have to cause some **** if you know what I mean.

Yeah, nothing like getting hit by a bumble bee going 60+. Feels like a fkn rock to the head. Worse when it gets lodged inside the helmet.

Oh Boy that shifter rocked back then.
With a Bonanza Bike you always where the leader of the mob.

Frank

re-edit. The one one the left is closest to what I had. But the seat was lower and the style of the #8 bike. I didn't have shocks and I don't think I had hand breaks, not sure. Around '71'-'72'.

lol, that shifter looks badass, lol. I can't remember if mine was that cool. I don't think so, but close.

if you want to laugh about the coincidence, my dad bought me a red bike, banana seat, high handle bars and a shifter, just like the one pictured... in Buenos Aires btw... but I got jacked! a bunch of slightly older kids told me to beat it cause they wanted the bike... off I went! but then getting home, crying I suppose, my Mom started screaming at me just as I approached my house, meeting me in the middle... she never gets mad, she spoiled me rotten, but when she got on a mood... it was all over... and apparently I had failed a Cambridge exam, the Proficiency in English Test, ooooooh ****... she didn't have any compassion, she screamed at me for both where I thought she was gonna comfort me... hahaha... that sucked! my bike!! and now I am in trouble?!? WTF?!?! hehehe... well I didn't really like that bike much though, it was heavy as shut!

Here's about the closest I could find to what I had. This is a 71 10 speed(claimed) but mine looked better.

Nowadays I see kids with chopper bikes that I think were inspired by the TV show American Chopper. They look pretty cool, if I can be nerd enough to say that, (shakes head and laughs). Cool for a kid I mean.

Actually, If I get into too many beer tomorrow, I'll dig out the family picture book and see if I have a pick of me with it. I know I have my 10 speed at 16yrs, not sure about the ccm. Maybe.
