How much would you pay for these animated logos?

I wouldn't pay anything for it, I'd build it myself.

But, that aside, not a bad looking animation...Don't know what it's worth.

Thanks AVP but that's the problem I can't make it that's why I had to ask someone to do it for me.

I don't know what the prices rn for this kind of work, or how it varies between companies. The main question is, what's it worth to YOU? How much time would it take for you to do it yourself, and what's that time worth to you?

Are you trying to figure out what to pay a friend, or are you disgruntled at what you're being charged?

P.S., I like the basic one much better than the advanced one!

What you see there could be accomplished in less than an hour if the fonts aren't premanipulated/customized in PS. It appears to be a simple motion-graphics job, which can be accomplished within many NLEs, so no 3d application is necessarily required.

I'd say between $150 and $250 (if there was some PS work required to customize the fonts).

Put it another way.

>The basic one would take me 1 to 2 hrs to make in AEFX.
>Learning to use AEFX has taken me ten years (and I am still no expert)
>Designing the logo...now thats where it gets tricky as regards costing

What iss it worth to you and what are you prepared to pay for it is probably what counts in the end.

What I was willing to pay is (kinda) similar to the price range Erik listed $100-$150

Hey guys,

Really wasn't impressed with these logo designs and animations. -- Definitely feel like you should get more bang for your buck if you are going to spend that much.

Let me know if you are interested. I could get you to a very talented artist where you will pay the same for a much better product.

My thoughts.

i agree with kyle, i didnt like the logo animations either. this is the branding of your company, i think it should be a definite eye catcher, not just a shrug your shoulders type of response.

$75 max for either of them if you must have something right away. otherwise i'd find someone who is nice in motion graphics, i know a few people as well.

for somebody that knows AE or Motion that's about an hour's work max. if i'm paying, i'd make em work for it.

just my opinion. :)

Thanks so much FilmBoy. This Forum is amazing. I almost got ripped off.

i wouldn't pay. the first one is to generic ($15 if you must)
the second has no rhyme or reason to it. ($20 max)

hey i did this in 2 minutes with relatively no AE experience. using some presets. What i am trying to say that those vids arent worth that much. No offense to the guy who worked on them but dont use them to promote your company. Cheezy for someone willing to charge. mine arent GREAT but then again im not charging for work and want to prove that you can get something way better

If the designer makes a living at it and had a meeting to discuss it and has spent time on multiple versions and will spend time finessing the final version it should be more like $500.
It is not just an equation of time spent. It includes the cost of computers, software, plug-ins, insurance, electricity, time, and everything else it takes to run and make a living from a business.
$500 is the bottom price for any of my motion logos but I will make 20 versions by the final including many different final versions.
If you don't like it, learn to make your own and finance your own toys.
If you want something different, ask for a change BUT have a plan and don't waste anyone's time telling them what you don't like but don't know what you want.
I get that all the time and that is why I charge a minimum of $500. That weeds out the folks that can't make up their mind.
Don't take it personally it's just business.
If it's a buddy and it's his play business pay him $250.
Cheers!
