Exhibiting my woeful lack of VFX knowledge, I shot some video a few months ago, thinking I would replace part of it in After Effects. After several hours of frustration, I've realized that I really know next to nothing about After Effects, and can't get this done.
Here's the situation:
I've got someone holding a piece of canvas, which supposedly has a painting on it. I taped a piece of white paper with black squares onto the canvas, intending to replace that later with an image of a painting.
There are three shots altogether. I'd like to be able to replace all of them if possible, but I'll take what I can get. Here are the three shots.

I realize that the moment when the front of the canvas first becomes visible in the second shot (when the board appears as a straight line for an instant as it is turned) is probably very difficult. I could probably cut around that moment, but I do need the rest of the shot.
How hard would it be to replace the canvases in those three shots with another image? Say, if it's beyond my abilities, could I hire someone (someone from dvxuser, perhaps?) to do the job for me for a fairly small price? I'm shooting this movie on zero-budget, with no prospects of making money with it. Anything I pay is coming out of my (a high-school kid's) pocket. I'd greatly appreciate any comments or advice.
Thanks, guys!
