Best way to render out to send to an amateur client

I have a few clients who may "freak out" if I send them dozens of confusing mxf files. If you were to render raw footage out to send to someone so they can veiw it without special software but is still high enough quaiity to be edited what would you pick?

FYI, I just bought Studio and am getting my mac this week so I am new to FCP.

Tough call- are they also on a Mac. You could go ProRes if they have FCP. Are we talking HD,SD, DV, HDV >?

i assume you are shooting p2 since you are talking about mxf files. when you ingest the footage into fcp, it gets converted to quicktime format. no more mxf files. these files are easily transferred but your client must have fcp installed (or manually install the dvcpro codec) to view. if you want to give them files just for preview, try h.264. great quality and small file size. if you want to give them something they can edit later, the full quality dvcpro quicktime files are most efficient as there is no transcoding required.

if you are only worried about confusing filenames, just rename them.
