Alrighty, it comes down to the simple question between these three great cameras, and I'm just not sure. I love the XL1 because of it's lens and viewfinder. But I also love the PD150 and DVX100 because of their XLR and portability! So, I want your opinion on which to get. I realize there's a price jump of a few hundred and it would be nice if you could take that into your choice. I'm not sure how much money I can spend, but I estimate around 1500 hopefully.

Whenever I've shot on the PD150 or XL1 I've always felt limited in comparison to what I can do with the DVX100. I prefer the LCD on the DVX100, its tweakability of the image in camera, its 24p and 24pa, and its control layout over those cameras. Given the chance I'd take the DVX100 almost everytime. If I needed extra reach in the lens I'd rather just use a doubler with the DVX than shoot on the XL1. And if I needed low-light I'd shoot interlaced on the DVX100 rather than use a pd150.

DVX all the way. It has pretty much everything that the other two have, plus 24p and Cine Gamma and Cine Color Matrix. It is possible that you could also find a used XL-2, for close to $1500, but not as likely as a used DVX.

Give me 24p or give me death.

Listen to this man. Once you go 24p you won't want to go back.
