Mixer and boom mike

Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a mixer and a boom mic.

I've mostly worked with Shure FP33 mixer (too noisy) and Senheiser M416 Boom mic.
Would you have any other suggestions in order for me to make a clear choice ?

Thanks

Martin

The 416 is a great Swiss Army Knife field mic. Tallrd's right, if you aren't happy with the 33 (which is a decent, but older mixer) SD products are the way to go. As Oleg has mentioned in the past, "I can't afford the cheap stuff". I recently nailed a 302 for $900 and I'm extremely happy with it and my 416.

I'd be happy to nail a 302 for less then a Thousand !
For the MKH416 as I am also looking for a Rycote full windshield system.

Has anyone of you compared the MKH416 and the KMR81 / 82 models ?

Thanks.

Your mixer will need a bag )and you may as well get the bag for the 302 now).

I am not saying you have to buy it from this vendor, but it is nice to have links with pictures and model numbers all from one place.

Thanks for the links Mike !

I'll stick with the SD302 and MK416 to use with my HD-P2.
I got a VBM boom already which is super light & works great !
