The Avengers movie (2010): who should direct?

I like Rob Zombie, but not to do Marvel characters. Todd MacFarlane maybe. I used to like Frank Miller, but he seems to have become too stylized.

I can appreciate the junkieness of of coming to the screen if a fan however. But, man, there's gotta be better projects scripts out there being shelved.
There are plenty of projects that would be... ahem, could be better than what you are seeing. Superman vs Batman for instance. And if you watch I Am Legend, I thought this was cool- they had a scene where he walked by a theater, and on the marquis was the Superman/Batman logo.

But anyway, the real fun comes from the interaction to other heroes, and Avengers is the one that will give it a go instead of Justice League. The fact that they suck, I blame on the studios for not giving a **** other than who's in it, and how much it will make. The movies have no heart until somebody in the line cares more about the story.

Have they exhausted all the major comic book super heroes? I guess the only thing now is to combine them. The bilboard in I Am Legend was a joke the director threw in there to get people talking.

The Avengers- Nowhere as exciting as the X-men as a group- no drama, one dimensional group similar to the Justice League. Its almost a "Best Of" of some Marvel Characters.

The less "human"they are, the less one can relate to. The best characters from all mainstream comics- Marvel and DC- were already done.

Now a Metal Gear Movie- just played through 4 and it was the most cinematicaly fullfilling videogame experience I've had in recent years- that would be a sure hit...Directed by Hideo Kojima, of course.

Huh? Ant man becomes an abusive husband, his wife leaves him. Wonderman dies, is brought back as an android, and when all Hell breaks loose, the Avengers recruit Dumpster Dave. Not exactly one dimensional. And those are just some of the stories I remember.

The one superhero movie that raises my interest this summer is "Hancok". That is a superhero premise that calls for attention.

I wanted it to be rated R as well. But Big Willie is not gonna put out an R movie in the summer. And when Did The R rating become such a bad thing. They even wanted to make 300 pg-13 and Zack Snyder fought to keep it hard core and it still made money. They even bought him an Aston Martin for it.

I'm also waiting for Hancock, even though I just heard about it a month ago. That one flew in under my radar somehow.

This is the only Wil Smith movie I have ever seen with such a small marketing campaign. The early test screening reviews have not been that great. But I'm in. He is the only guaranteed Bankable Hollywood star right now in my opinion.

Well, alot of movies try to break below the R as it means a bigger audience base. My feelings are that you make the movie that needs to be made, not change it/ ruin it for wider appeal. But that's me, and I dont make $200M opening weekend blockbusters. I could, but my personal integrity wont allow me. lol.

And of course Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan had to do everything in his power to make The Happening and R rated movie so he had something to market on. Really, nothing crazy or R rated happens in The Happening. He just needed a new gimmic.

I don't care who directs The Avengers. I'd love to have a nice acting role in it though. Don't know if I'll be a "name" actor by that point, but you never know. I will one of these days though... that's a promise...

Stop being so modest. We know who you really are.
