Good instructional DVD for Sweetening Audio?

Ive watched the Sound for Film and Television DVD, but it only includes information on getting good clean audio...info I was already familiar with.

It does not include any info on sweetening your audio to get that "SOUND" heard in today's film and television productions.

Does anyone know of any training DVDs that deal with this subject for someone using the vegas filters, sound forge and ozone? Or even something that just talks about it from a conceptual standpoint?

How would narration really be any different than regular dialog? It still needs to sound good and understandable. Since it's generally recorded in a soundbooth I'd imagine you're simply starting with higher quality material, but other than that most of the same sound editing techniques apply.

Ummm...I'm sure that is correct. But it doesn't answer my original question.

The Sound for Film and Television DVD is a good introductory primer for recording great sound...it just doesn't go into audio sweetening and I'm looking for a video based product that does.

Thanks,

Brad

We do have a segment on post audio and do cover the basics of an audio edit and post sweetening. It is not intended as an advanced master course in audio sweetening though.

Go to MIX.com and see what they have, if anything. They use to have a CD set called Golden Ears, never bought it but it seemed interesting. The best stuff I've seen on DVD is the extra stuff on the Star Wars DVDs with Ben Burt. I use it with my college sound design students to help them get the idea of what it's all about.

Barry is correct. I don't want to short the Sound for Film and Television DVD. It's a great product!

As a matter of fact, it's the one product that I've purchased over the last 12 months that I actually felt was MORE than worth the price I paid for it!

You guys should do a DVD on audio sweetening!
