Device for connecting 2 mics to a single input

Someone in here told me about that microphone adapter you can buy if your camcorder only has one small mic input on it and no XLR inputs. I'm sure most of you know what I am talking about.

Anyway, after seeing the price for the one that was shown to me, I searched the internet to see if any other companies made this device and found another one which I have bought and works good. So I just wanted to pass it along to anyone here that might be interested or maybe hasn't seen it.

Not really a mixer, as you can not mix the inputs together.

Beachtek has a good reputation for the same products, I have used their connection box or adapter with a TRV-900 for a couple of travel documentaries.

Basically you coud make just a Y-connector with two F-XLRs and M-sterero miniplug. They are also available off the shelf. I have one I used with Shure VP88 stereo mic and a minidisk recorder.

Here is one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/160632-REG/Hosa_CYX_401F_Stereo_Mini_Angled_Male.html

Actually it is a mixer/adaptor but it just doesn't provide phantom power and its passive. No batteries. I've used the Sign Video model for years on my Canon GL2 and it works really well. I use it with a mixer (SD 302) so I don't require phantom power. The Rolls and the ART provide phantom but only 18 volts, so if your mic is one of those that needs 48volts its not gonna work. If you're simply using it to adapt xlr to the 1/8th inch input of a camera I think its a very good solution. i like how it either mounts under the camera or clips on your belt. A better value for the money than Beachtek IMHO.
