blurring part of the image, is it possible in premiere?

can anyone tell me if it's possible to blur 1 persons face from the screen (not all of the screen) using preferably pp1.5 or pp cs3 (though my graphics card doesnt seem to like cs3)? i was hoping not to have to go into after effects to do this as there are loads of sections where i need to do this blur
any help would be lovely
 
Yes it is easily possible.

"Search " on this sight and the Adobe Premiere Forum or the Premiere WikiPedia Site for the many tips and tutorials available.
 
I can't remember that far back as to pp 1.5 but, make a mask in photoshop or in Adobe Premiere Titler. e.g a elipse. Black background, white forground

duplicate your footage layer

Add the title/photoshop mask to a video track above your two footage layers.

set keyframes with the motion properties for the title/mask layer so that the elipse follows what you want blurred out

add the track matte key effect to your top footage layer, set the Matte property to the Video layer containing the title/mask.

Add the mosaic filter (or whatever tickles or fancy) to the same layer,

remember to animate the motion of the Title/mask video layer to move the blurred option. NOT the footage vide track.
