FYI - NYTimes - Indie Films Coming to a Small Screen Near You

People will definitely pay money for short films...
...and those people will work in ad agencies.

Regardless - the article is really about features - not shorts.

i have my doubts, but it will be sweet if this works out.

now i just need to get on the ball and get a movie out there.

The article is about JOHN SLOSS, an entertainment attorney.... who's name helped start the careers of Spike Lee, Kevin Smith, Edward Burns, Richard Linklater, QUentin Tarantino, and many many more.....

Do not underestimate the power of Sloss.

"3,600 independent features were submitted to the Sundance Film Festival this year, a record driven by inexpensive digital equipment and an abundance of film financing. But only a couple hundred of those movies will ever be distributed in theaters."

A couple hundred!?!?

EDIT: Holy crap, he hired Matt Dentler. I guess Joe Swanberg's future is nothing to worry about now.

Sounds like another possible way for distributors (Sloss & company) to make money but not really a way for content creators to make money.
