For the guys who do music videos. What are your personal strategies? Do you get the band to play the whole song for each angle you want to take or are you moving around getting different angles during each song performance or doing both.

I shoot a wide of the band for the full song with each take. then an angle of each member for the full song, then do one of two where you are just fishing around for something cool. That's how I do mv with one cam

That's how I do it too. Works pretty good, + you get the feeling of working with a multi-camera production. It feels good :D

That's pretty much the way to do it but I sometimes change angles when shooting on one subject multiple times to save time. Like adjusting my frame every 10 sec 'cause I know that in post I don't want to be cutting to the same shot. For example your set up is on a dolly, you always move the dolly so that your not stuck with the boring static shot. It's just a matter of coverage. :violin:

It's knowing your cuts in post before you start rollin' Happy thoughts...

Also what are your strategies while shooting in ensuring the band is in sync with their track.

You need LOUD playback and they just lip/instrument synch to it. Don't forget to record that playback music either cause you will go crazy trying to synch it up by eye.
