Panasonic monitor

Naw, the cheap alternative is going to be the Dolgin device. About $100 for the adapter, and then you use two DVXUser batteries on it.

how heavy is that whole setup? Is there any weight savings with that over a trimpac slipped directly on the back of a LH80?
I just updated the weight information on our site. The bottom line is the adapter with 2 5400 mah batteries (DVXuser or Panasonic CGR-54) is just a little heavier than a Dionic 90 is and a little lighter than a Hytron 50. If you want to have a really light weight setup, check these batteries on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-PANASONIC-C...ryZ43436QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
They are smaller capacity, physically smaller and much lighter than the DVXuser ones. Still, for about $11 ea they run the LH80 monitor here for about 3.5 hours. While they claim 4000 mah, they in fact test at about 2800 mah. Order a few extra, as some of them DOA.

BT-LH80W Mounting or image flip?

BT-LH80W Mounting or image flip?

I am planning on purchasing the Pan monitor BT-LH80W but my question is can I mount it upside down since I also have a Redrock and the image is upside down or does the monitor allow an image flip?

Thanks,

Paul

ah great...should work alright with my existing Noga arm!

Gonna power it up with a couple bescor battery belts...should work nicely.

A pretty basic, perhaps dumb, question: the mounting arms I've seen listed for the LH80 don't mention using them with the HVX200, just bigger cameras. What would be the best way to use this with an HVX200 and Cartoni Focus tripod? Thanks!

I have mine on the HVX200 with the Pani arm. I can't say that it is great but it has worked for me. The monitor is very heavy for it's size but I am very happy with it's performance.

BTW a good alternative to the Panny is the TV Logic monitor that Zacuto is selling. I compared the 2 last week and I thought the image quality was very similar .

Price is about the same if you put the SDI in the Panny otherwise Panny is cheaper.

TV Logic - lighter but smaller ( 7" compared 7.9" I think) The size difference was noticeable to me and I preferred looking at the Panny, but the weight on the TV Logic might make a big difference on an arm. I didn't try that.

TV Logic has a vectorscope and waveform + and SDI loop through out, but no red peaking function.

Panny BTLH80 has the Red peaking and is larger so I thought it was a little better for seeing focus, but I didn't compare for too long. Both were way better than say a Marshall. My friends who owned the ZTV Logic thought it was a sharper than the Panny, but I didn't see that at all.

Panny can use a really nice portabrace bag with built in hood (better than the ones I've seen for the 900). I don't know if the TV Logic has anything as nice yet.

The off axis viewing issues seemed similar but oddly they worked in reverse -one got darker vertically and the other got lighter.

This is a bit off topic, but it looks like the Focus in Red feature had already been implemented in a cheap HD camera--the FX7!!

I was messing around with one at Fry's when I noticed that there are red edges all around objects in the LCD display. Checked the menu and it turned out that the FX7 allows you to display peaking in white, red or yellow. Since peaking illuminate the edge of objects that are in focus, isn't this the same thing as Focus in Red?

Thanks, Douglas. I'm assuming that's the Panasonic BT-MOUNT that you're using. I was puzzled why B&H doesn't mention the HVX200 as one of the cameras it's for. I guess I'll try it and see.

Please do not pick Panasonic BT-MOUNT. It is definitely not for Bt-lh80w. Monitor is TOO heavy for BT-Mount. I did tried (mounted on hvx200) bad..bad choice (non stop play/move left to right)

I didn't have the same experience as Kwan even with the heavy Porta Brace. I must agree that the monitor feels too heavy for the HVX top mount. It is solid but I don't now what would happen if you accidentally hit it.

Elipz Anton Power?

Elipz Anton Power?

As for power supply. Will the Elipz Anton Bauer system be an option?
