Matching 1k Tungesten to Kino Flo

I have a shoot coming up where I want to use a 4 by 4 Kino as my key and then a 1k Fresnel for an edge light- my question is this:

Because I will have to gel the fresnel with CTB to match the Kino, i'm wondering if the 1k will have enough power to create a hard edge- how much light will the CTB eat? My subject is (1) standing person so I don't need a lot of light spread out...

Should I opt for the 2k? or is a 1k plenty in relation to the light output of the Kino Flo?

Thanks in advance!

Full CTB will eat about 2 stops. I'd guess that a 1k would be enough, depending on how far away the fixture will be from the talent.

Why not gel the kino to tungsten? CTO doesnt cut as much light as CTB. OR why not get some kino tungsten matched bulbs? I believe they are the ones with the gold ends?

Yeah I was thinking Tungesten bulbs but the studio i'll be shooting at only supplies daylight bulbs... I guess the idea of gelling the Kino hadn't really occured to me :x

I think i'll do that!

Thanks guys!
