Hello,
I've just bought NEC 2690WUXI monitor + HDLink to be working with MacPro 2.8 + FCP Studio2.
I'd like to calibrate that monitor. Can HDLink be useful for the calibration ?
If yes, please explain to me how to calibrate with HDLink. If not, what equipment shoud I buy ?
My goal : My clips are from HDCAM SR 4:4:4, i'd like to use Color for grading.
Thank you very much

You'll still need an I/O card (like from Blackmaigc or AJA) to feed the HD-SDI signal to the HDLink, and I'm not sure how good of a monitor the NEC will be for color grading as it's a computer monitor and not a b'cast monitor.

I have REALLY been wanting to test that monitor with the MXO. I mean in a BAD way. I first saw this at MacWorld 08 and it won Best in Show for a reason.

Kimery is right, you would still need a Blackmagic HD Extreme to feed that HD Link. And I have heard that you can send bars and blue only via Black-Magic software, but I'm not positive. But I know that the MXO has software that allows for you to set the monitor up to bars, which is needed for this to function as a broadcast monitor.

Man I'd love to test that. But I won't shell out $1200 just to see.

Hello,
I'm going to have AJA Kona3. You are right, it's not a Braodcast monitor, but Braodcast monitor costs a lot, somebody have worked with NEC 2690WUXI for grading with Color told me that it works all right with HDLink. I'm waiting for their answer for calibration.
Thanks and best regards
