Panasonic Banner Ad

The Panasonic banner ad that runs at the top of the dvxuser forum pages occludes the drop down menus. I think it must be flash or something, but hopefully an admin can fix it so we don't have to refresh before we can use the navigation menu stuff.

strange, try using a different browser see if you still get the problem, I didn't seem to get that problem,

anyway else getting this problem?

//EDIT:

yea I know the ad you talking about,

At the risk of disrupting the space-time continum:

I get the same result from FireFox. Possibly my flash version? I'll try an update.

Edit: Flash updated to Version 9,0,124,0 - still happening.
1440x900 screen resolution but it happens with any size browser window.

It happens to me too. It may be because this is the first animated big banner we've done? I'll get Jason looking into it. In the meantime, you can just "refresh" until a different banner comes up.

Okay. I can't replicate this error on a mac using firefox or safari. The dropdowns overlay the banner and are completely usable.

I do think this may have something to do with Flash version... maybe it's a PC thing.

I can't seem to replicate it either, very strange, It must be some screen size resolution thing, perhaps the banners are not dynamically resized and are overflowing from there CSS DIV containers?

ahh, I just viewed under 800 * 600 pixels, the banner now does break out of its container, so I can see how this error is related to screen resolution, if you can try running at least 1024 * 768 minimum it should go away!

ok I've been scanning through the generated HTML on the main page this is the part that displays the banner:

<div align="center">
<div class="time" align="center">
<a href="http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/battery/"><img src="http://www.dvxuser.com/banners/banner3.gif" border="0"></a><br>

</div>

<div class="smallfont" align="center">
<!-- Do not remove or your scheduled tasks will cease to function -->

<!-- Do not remove or your scheduled tasks will cease to function -->
<br>Powered By Filmmakers like you. All material Copyright 2007 DVXuser.com

</div>
</div>

However this DIV is unclassed, and also it is nested inside a Form, I'm not sure if the inheretence from the Form Style is affecting a non specified DIV container?

EDIT//

oops sorry it is classed, the style is called "Time" is only defined in CSS as:

.time
{
color: #CCCCCC;
}

I 'm thinking it should be:

.time {
width: yoursize%;
color: #CCCCCC;
}

Yeah. There's a bit of a mess up in the code that Larry pointed out to me that I need to fix. That might take care of the problem for those of you who are having it.

Banner for Panny is Flash.

I'll get the code cleaned up as soon as I can and see if it's still a problem for those of you who it's freaking out on.

later,
Jason
