I have avoided using wireless mics up to this point but, more and more, I find myself recording corporate presentations and monologues at business meetings, usually in conference rooms or similar settings. I have been placing wired hypercardiods in close, but not close enough at times, proximity to the source but need to move to using a lav I suspect.
Would it be feasable to try and wire a lav to the speaker if he's going to move about, back and forth a bit? There may also be potential instances where a speaker will sit next to other speakers (presenters) and take his turn to speak.
I am trying to figure whether the convenience and need of a wireless lav would outway the reliability and cheaper cost of wired lav in a situation like this.
Any recommendations?
I am currently looking at trying out a Sennheiser EW100 G1 receiver with a G2 transmitter that a local audio shop has. Wondering if I should still try to steer clear of wireless altogether.
