Vegas Pro 8.0 Trial Question!!

I am using this program because Premiere is not working for me. And I need to just capture this footage asap. I am capturing HD 24p 1080i footage on to Vegas. I have never done this before, and when I am capturing, when I click stop and i view the clips (5-10min) in the folder there is like 10 million different mtf clips?
 
This is a known bug of Vegas. Nothing you can do to fix it AFAIK, except going to the preferences and disabling "scene detection" or trying a different firewire cable. Then, you will get, hopefully, a single big clip. This bug happens a lot on the Canon prosumer cameras I think.
 
Yes, like Eugenia said, this is a known bug in the current versions of Vegas 8 - hopefully a fix is around the corner.

Disabling Scene Detection is a work around as is using a 3rd party capture utility such as HDV Split - http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm

or you can capture in an earlier version of Vegas, either 6 or 7.

Thanks for the help guys.. I tried 7.0 trial and I got the footage but when I import the mpeg file to Premiere to edit the file is green does any one have an idea why?
