May have captured at 24P and 24PA...got issues

So I'm trying to piece together a film I shot but I think I may have shot at both 24P and 24PA. Most of the footage I've captured is 23.98 but some is at 29.97, even though I used advanced pulldown on everything. So now that 29.97 footage has the extra frames and looks crappier than the rest.

I also realized after all the shooting I did that I should have shot at 24P because I have no intention of putting this stuff out to film.

So the question is, how do I fix the 23.98 and 29.97 issue and what should I do at the end to set the project up for DVD?

I've tried using Cinema Tools to convert the footage, but that makes it look even worse.

I need to get the project done fairly soon and I don't have time to recapture all the 23.98 footage so I'd rather try to make something happen with the 29.97. Unfortunately, no matter how I try to capture it, nothing changes. If I can just somehow dump those extra frames, it'll look fine.

Believe me, I wish I could. But it will take me days to recapture the 23 compared to an hour with the 29.

Then the answer is NO.

So... you are saying the 24p (29.97) looks like ugh in the 23.98 sequence... then:

Recapture the 24p, use CINEMA TOOLS to reverse telecine it (NOT CONFORM!!) and edit in 23.98. Then export back to tape using the 3.2 cadence (RT settings). I have a feeling you dinked with it too much (TOOLS remove advance pulldown???? (can't do that)).

The next thing to do will be to make the project DVD ready.

Whole other project to figure out.
