is it legal to do this type of commercial?

Definitely don't make a commercial. Even if what you're saying is true it might be considered slander and they'll sue you for any loss of business the commercial may have caused. $,$$$,$$$!!!!

As people have already mentioned, a firm (but polite) letter can do wonders. If not then Judge Judy will suffice.

Good luck!

I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure making a commercial and/or publishing this information in a local paper is considered libel even if it is completely true. I think your best bet would be to sue them after you get proper documentation from your mechanic about the initial problem, the service you paid them to do, and an explanation from your mechanic in writing about how they didn't complete the service and/or the quality of the job.

thanks for the advice guys. i've come to my senses and am not going to waste money on doing the commercial. now speaking of scams...did anyone see american idol this past week?

I wondering myself if it was a scam although the audience members seemed pretty thrown off as well. Unless the judges feedback is scripted. Hmm, it is reality television...

I'd say to write in to your local paper, sometimes, they will cover it. Not sure if its best to go anonymous or no when writing into them, but you should ask that they don't mention your name.

Just tell them what happened, why they should cover it, and what you want done, most good local papers should cover it.
