Premiere does not Edit Avchd or SVS right now.

Looking for a HD backup camera to my HVX200 for 'b' roll work and found that premiere pro cs3 doesn't support AVCHD or SVS. According to ADOBE there are no planned releases in the near future for these formats. What can I convert them into to edit in Premiere cs3? AVI? Thanks for your help...

By SVS, do you mean Sony's SxS cards? If so, there's a new Premiere update that supports them.

Don't know what their plans are for AVC-HD, but since you're already an HVX user you may find the free Panasonic AVCHD->DVCPRO-HD conversion tool useful. It'll convert AVC-HD files into P2 MXF files which can then be freely mixed with your other P2 files.
