Deathly Slow preview on second head

Trying to edit XDCam material on FCP 6, it plays out great in the Canvis Viewer but when you turn on the full screen preview on the second head, i get about 14 fps and it stops and complains about the RT setup any ideas is this a limitation of FCP cutting on an imac 2.66ghz, it plays fine when i expand the Cavis Viewer to the largest it can be on the second head. Any ideas

Not the fastest gear in the world for that sort of request... I'd look into getting an AJA IO HD or MXO 3 if you want better performance on the desktop preview. Also add a nice FW800 RAID.

Yeah its an IMac 2.66ghz 2 gb of ram, Running a FW800 raid 0 not sure of the video card spec, I just don't get how it can playout fine in the canvis window (expanded to the full size of the panel) and be dead slow in the Full screen preview

because the canvas is just a proxy and the desktop preview is full quality.
