Need Help - FCP Audio ?

Hmmm... is the computer and the dsr both hooked up to the same speakers? I don't hear any hiss. I hear ROOM tone... but no hiss.

Is it really faint?

The speakers are connected to the computer and i am listening to the editing monitor on a separate speaker. You say room tone, will it be that strong when output to DVD ? Is it not strange that it is so strong in FCP, but not there on the monitor ? Can i reduce it ? I'm sure it is just the wrong mic for the situation. Thanks

My initial thought was that the speakers hooked to the DSR might not be giving you a true picture of what the sound really is... OR the speakers hooked to the COMPUTER might not.... often cheaper speakers give you higher emphasis -- where your room tone lies.

You have a few options... do a simple EQ and try to eliminate as best you can... and 2) burn a copy and try it out on your TV setup. See if you can live with it.

I burned a test clip to DVDSP and output a 24p DVD to see what final result would be. It sounds actually a lot better than what it did in FCP. The room tone is almost not even there. Thanks Mench. Time for some quality monitor speakers. Any recommends ?
