Filming in Honduras - any issues?

Shooting a documentary of mission work in a remote village in Honduras during July. Will be based out of a hotel about an hour away by vehicle.

Just wondering if anybody has any experience working in Honduras or Central America, anything I should look out for, cultural or otherwise?

Anybody know if I can get insurance for my gear while down there?

Thanks

Here's some advice, carry a gun or hire people with guns, if at all you wanna shoot anything in Tegicigalpa, don't go out with anything that looks like it costs more then 50 dollars. You will get robbed and killed; but other then that, good luck and have fun and let me know the status of the project.

Hi,

I've been there several times, but not in the last ten years or so.

Insurance is a very good idea. If you have good support folks there, that will be terrific, too.

Roads are generally fairly rough, doubt that has changed much. I do recommend that you plan a security detail for the time that you're there. It probably won't cost very much.
