Videos in Premier CS3 all BLACK!

Hello:

Has anyone had this problem of having MXF files in premier Cs3 (be it 3.0 or 3.1 patch) and the videoclips look all black with no sound?

When I installed Premier for the first time my footage looked nice and was there....now for some reason after the patch (3.1) the footage is all black without sound. All the editing is there but the videos are black. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch and nothing...system restored days back when it was alright and nothing.

Does anyone have a work around this problem?

Hi,

If I recall, Premiere CS3 3.0 didn't have MXF support, 3.1 does. The update makes it work.

Are you importing the Contents folder?

Yes, I read 3.1 patch makes Premier read MXF natively, but both 3.0 and 3.1 dont work for me...i dont know why.
Can u explain about the "content" folder? Im not exactly sure what u mean.

Have you tryin 3.2.0 its just been realased as for your clips, make them offline and relink them

(Also throw out your Previews, and Audio Cache)
 
Thanks...Ill try that and post my results.
As of now, After Effects CS3 also is giving problems...after installing...some days pass and it stops working. Just doesnt load anymore. Have tried it all...gave up and im now installing version 7 from CS2. I use Vista and I know all video still works better in XP (I have another PC with XP). But this new PC comes with Vista.
The same problem happened in XP...After Effects just stops working.
Any ideas?
 
yeah vista.... it lasted 20 mins on my new machine. Sound like you need an over haul, system restore has never worked for me, do your self a favour and reinstall windows before you get too deep into a project :)
 
Yeah...really annoying if I had to do that again. Took me a couple of days to install my software on this new machine (not to say about the constant install/uninstall of CS3)....so, lets see how it works out.
