Which VASST pluigins to start with?

I can't find the pages with representations of the effects applied that they had for them. But I remember the names... I think?

I want the "Celluloid" and both "Hollywood Today" volumes, cause it it VASST and DJ... but were those inspired by the original looks that were oh, so good?

I am definitely looking for the looks that resemble current film stock.And if possible to do both I also like fast looks, faster preview of course being most important.
 
yea, that's why I have it at the top of my list, and I was hoping to get his opinion, we've talked about these when David was using their stuff, so he knows these better than anyone else... my magic bullet hasn't been the same since I downgraded video cards to be compatible with Avid to... although I still use Vegas7 no matter how much slower it might still be... eventually I will also upgrade my V7 to V8 since it works up to 25% faster... together with these puppies it will be the fastest combo
 
Well I can tell you one thing. Celluloid and the Reelpacks are amazing. Plus they're scripted from within Vegas so speed is 10 times what MB is. On top of that, for grading out of just an NLE, Vegas has the best toolset available without leaving the program.

Try the Ultimate S Demo over at VASST.com, the stock Celluloid looks are built into that as well. May give you a good idea as to how they perform. Not only that, Ultimate S is a pretty kicking plug-in as well.

Vegas 8 is faster, yes. IMO, there are enough bugs currently in the latest version that I would consider waiting until 8.0c is released in June, that and DVDA 5.0 - I'm hoping that's the killer bundle by then. I've had so many Canon issues with 8.0 currently that I only use it if I'm traininig. For editorial, I'm on 7.0d until 8.0 sees some improvements.

DJ, so you mean the latest Ultimate S? cause it seems both 3.1 and 2.0 are discontinued, so what do I get?

Wow... I wasn't ready for that, what about fr less money? Well this sucks, cause I believe that it must be the way to buy the VASST products, but can I buy some looks and then upgrade it to Ultimate S?

I was only p[lanning on getting something like Celluloid and ReelPak-1 for $50...

The cost of Ultimate S, compared to Celluloid is where Ultimate S ends up being the best deal. $50 for Celluloid vs about $150 for Ultimate S when you get 10 times the plug-in benefits. Still doesn't mean that Celluloid is bad, I think David was talking about the biggest bang for the bucks.

Ok guys, so I thank you for your comments, I just called then and I realized
that with Celluloid you get ReelPak-1... that's a crazy bargain for $25!!!
Also he told me I can use my $25 towards an upgrade to Ultimate S!!!
