safe to upgrade FCP Studio to Studio2?

Is it safe to upgrade FCP Studio to Studio 2 if you are still working on a feature film you've edited in the old format? If not, is there a safe way to perform the update, so that it doesn't affect the film? You're feedback on this issue would be most appreciated.

I would NEVER do an upgrade DURING an important project.

That being said, if you want to try, use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your HD, then do a clean install.

Thanks for the advice. I need to import OMF files to Soundtrack Pro, and have the earlier version that doesn't support OMF...the newer Soundtrack Pro 2 does. Not sure what to do?

Well depends how complex you want to get- but you can always just send tracks individually. Or roll the dice and go to FCS 2. Just remember you were warned it can get sketchy. :violin:

Thanks. I think I'm gonna go with individually sent tracks for mixing. There's too high a risk ...if FCS 2 changed the original settings. Much appreciated.
