Converting Full Rez HD MPEG2 to Full Rez HD Mov

I am trying to convert a Full Rez HDV Mpeg2 clip shot on a Sony HVR-Z1U HD Cam to a Full rez HD Mov. file in Premiere Pro 2.0.

I am trying to convert it so it will play on a Mac computer in Final Cut and also so I can deliver a full rez HD Mov file to the company I work for.

Everytime I export it either the video and audio is sped up or the audio is slowed down and out of sync, It looks to be converting it in HD but when I transfer it to the Mac I still have to render it and it is still choppy and unplayable.

Any ideas? Email me at backseatconcept@aol.com if you know what's up!

No tape export

No tape export

We want to do this all digitally, the reason being we dont have an HD deck and dont have the $$ to rent one and all the associated tape stock...also, we need to send several copies for legal and approval so if it comes back for changes we do not want to have to rent a deck again and get more tapes..we want to send it in on a hard drive...

you could try elemetry streams, to fix sync (Ie render audio and then a big uncompressed AVI FCP should read that, as to the lay off i mean just lay the footage back to your Z1 its still fully digital

so I got the correct settings and exported a 3 hour mpeg2 to convert to MOV in Premiere CS2, it took 4 DAYS to do and then when it came to 99.99% it sat there for 4-5 hours as if it was finishing the file and then an error came up when it should have finished it said:

Export Error
Api Failure!

the file disappeared. any ideas as to what happened?

Wont the original file open on the Mac?

BTW - I do not think PremPro 2 is up to the task or even would recognise the mpeg file.

CS3 may be the "man for the job" though.
