BIG news from Letus!

I think Indy producers/directors are getting excited about being able to make a dollar out of fifteen cents. My SG used to fool people it was film, can't wait to see what the UMate does. Oh no, I'm sounding like a fanboy, make it stop......

Im def in line on the Relay atleast.

If it works on a LEtus, it will work on a SGflip. Taht will be one crazy setup, but screw it, i own the adapter and am thrilled with performance, plus it will hopefully work on my soon to be purchased HPX500....

From my understanding... the optical relay being released by Letus will be compatible with the Letus Ultimate. The optics will be specifically calibrated to the unit. The Extreme and the Ultimate are two different beasts with different optical distances and the sort. Therefore, no one will know if the relay will adequately work with the LEX until someone tries it out.

However, I too remain hopeful that these new Relays work with current adapters.

I am pretty sure that the Extreme will be compatible with the Relay. About ninety-five percent. The five percent being the chance that something could change last minute. However, that's what the Relay was built around, right? That's why it has focal adjustments, iris adjustments, etc.

SHould be expected to work with all Letus adapters, and if SGpro owners are lucky those to. I am not sure, however, if it will work with any other adapter.

I'm curious if the distance from lens to spinning ground glass is different from lens to vibrating ground glass. I would think the Relay would be based off of the Ultimate architecture. Someone should just ask Hien Le and find out for sure!

But the relay is basically a lens. With the backfocus adjustment, it's enacting as focus which means you'll be able to reach the ground glass regardless. Just as well, the Ultimate and Extreme are relatively the same size with a flip unit incorporated. There were probably minor adjustments to the unit as far as distance from lens to ground glass is concerned, they hit the sweet spot with the Extreme.

Call it a hunch, but I'm pretty sure they factored this stuff in when they set out to build the relay, and, wouldn't force you to use the Ultimate with the Relay. It's counter-intuitive from both an engineering and business standpoint to count out an accessory that's already in the hands of users.

However, I'm sure it's better for someone from the Letus team to confirm. =)

Ultimate vs Extreme

Ultimate vs Extreme

hi,phlip.I watched your Vegas shoot with Ultimate.
very cool.
Do Ultimate surpasses Extreme in which respect?

teach me,please

$500 an hour to teach Sato!

It can be used with high shutter speed and can be stopped down to F22. The extreme can do neither. It is also sharper and has nicer Bokeh

Aaron,

Hien told me about some new updated mounts... a specially the C/Y one.
(but also the Leica-R and Olympus OM!)
Do you know when/how I can order one on the site.
And is it the quality the same as the new Nikon one?

Arno

tanks,philip.
I'm not interested in high shutter.
but,I'm interested in sharper and nicer Bokeh.

Can I watch ComparingMovie between Extreme and Ultimate in Bokeh and Sharpness?

I'm torn between buying now Extreme or waiting for Ultimate.

Hey guys-

For those of us who already forked out a lot of dough for the LEX plus the EX1 kit plus the new improved Nikon mount and are interested in forking out more dough for the Ultimate...

Do you think there will be a chance that Letus will do an upgrade deal for Extreme owners to be Ultimate owners? What do you think Hien?

Here's hoping.. Otherwise I'll have to sell my LEX now..

Gmoe
