What is this green line in my timeline?

In my timeline, one of the audio clips has a green line.

Everything works perfectly, but I am curious why I am getting that green line with that one audio clip.

FYI, there are no audio filters being used. I did send that audio clip (and another in the same timeline) to Soundtrack pro, but only that one has the green line.

Any ideas, what it means?

But I have rendered everything. Shouldn't it go away after the render?

Also, why would that clip be showing that it needs to render, when the clip further down that had the exact same stuff done to it in Soundtrack Pro, doesn't say it needs to be rendered?

I did a little more testing and while I still can't quite figure it out, it appears like it has something to do with the fact that I sent the audio to Soundtrack Pro. I just don't understand why the other clip I sent there isn't behaving the same way. Strange.

Have you tried 'forcing' the render? Sleect those audio bits and hit Option+R.

It's a little different than 'render all' which I believe renders just what FCP thinks you need to render.

The reason that the green line is showing up is because that audio clip does not match your sequence settings. If you go to the sequence tab and select render only>preview, that will render your green line (opt + r). Usually FCP will never render any of your green lines unless you make it.

I have rendered every way possible. The green line is here to stay.

Oh well, like I said, the sequence works, it just irks me that I can't make that line go away.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Don't you get that green line when you max out the gain on an audio clip? Or is that pink-purple? I'm not around FCP at the moment to verify.

In the menu at the top go to sequence, render all and put a check mark besides all the lines color and then go back to your sequence and do alt+R

I figured out what is causing the behavior described above and it has nothing to do with rendering (as far as I can tell).

Here is what is happening:

- I send an audio clip to Soundtrack Pro (to apply an effect)
- I save the clip in Soundtrack Pro and the revised clip is now in my timeline
- This revised clip has the green line (no amount of rendering makes it go away)

Now, here is the weird part.

- I send the same audio clip to Soundtrack Pro and save it again

Now, when I return back to FCP the green line is gone.

I have no idea why. Any thoughts?
