Motion - copying 3d rotation parameters from one layer or clip to another

Hi, I have my base clip in Motion rotated in 3D space to a certain degree.

Every time I bring in a new layer, I have to rotate it to the same degree, otherwise part of it gets cut off and goes "through" the original clip.

Is there a way to just copy the 3D rotation parameters of the original clip to the subsequent clips and layers? It will keep me from going grey and bald and developing ulcers over the next 2 days.

Can't you simply create a layer, apply the rotation to that layer, and drop all of the clips you want to rotate into that layer at whatever point on the timeline you want them to appear. The rotation should be automatically applied to all clips in the layer.

Well, various items appear over top of each other, some semi-transparent, etc. I was under the impression that this required it to be on a different layer. Am I wrong?

There can be several layers inside another layer, much like "nesting" in AE. You may want to take a little time to peruse the Motion user guide just to get familiar with some of the basic, but powerful, features of the program.

You can create a new group and any transformations to the group is applied to all the layers in the group.

You can also highlight the layer that has the parameters you want to copy and simply drag and drop parameters, the rotation parameters in this case, onto the layer you want to effect.
