I need a new tripod for < $450

The tittle says it all. I have up to 450 bucks to spend on a tripod. It must be available at B and H because that is where I have to make the purchase. The reason is complicated but basically I am ordering a bunch of other things there and I want to get everything together to save on shipping. Plus my uncle is technically paying and he does not trust anyone but B and H lol. So is Bogen/Manfrotto the standard? I looked though all these:

And i saw some I liked, except they seem to be awfully short. Most of them do not exceed 6 feet even with the center bar extended! Isn't this kind of important? My current tripod, which I got for 80 bucks at best buy and is pretty crappy, goes at least 7 to 7 and a half feet (with the column extended).

So, a few are taller but are very heavy. Should i go with these or is the added hight not necessary?

Thanks alot. Please recommend a tripod kit for me because I am lost. There are so many choices!

You never want a center column anyway. In the field, you frequently need to go lower rather than higher. Professional tripod sticks never have center column so that the legs can be spread low. Plus a center column prevents the use of a 75mm or a 100mm bowl to level the tripod head, which is an invaluable feature.

For $450, the two above features are beyond your budget. It would be best to buy used, but since you can only buy at B&H, get the 503HDV head and pick any stick that comes closest to your budget.
