I have a 20mm, 50mm and 85mm (50-150mm used but I am returning it and getting my $500 back) ... What is the big difference between let's say my 20mm / 50mm compared to a 35mm. Should I get 35mm or does 50mm give the same effect?

maybe a 28mm.
20mm is very wide.
you might want something for shooting in tight areas (eg: small room) that doesnt give such a wide image (20mm), and not as close as a 50mm.

I have Nikon 18/28/35/50

My Nikon 35 is on my camera 95% of the time.

Grab one you'll love it.

Go to iTunes and search Landon Pigg "Falling in love at a coffee shop" Video

It's a simple in studio performance shot.

Everything is shot with a 35 except the close up on his face from strait on.. that's a 50

That should give you a good example of the difference in mm's.

I have one and it's a star. Though not sharp at 1.4 (but what is). It's still a notch below Zeis of Nikon 17-35 in terms of sharpness.

35mm f1.4 is a nice lens. the focal length will fit nicely between your 20mm and 50mm as a standard wide angle, with less distortion than your super-wide 20mm. i would think everyone should have a 28mm or 35mm in their set of lenses.
