Very unhappy with Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8

I was VERY unhappy when I bought a used Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 Apo lens from B&H and the ground class had a lot of "noise" and visable grain, even with the vibration button turned on.

Are all 2.8's like that? I am going to purchase a 135 mm that's 2.8 but wanted to make sure I will not get the same amount of noise.
 
My DVX is open all the way and it's a 2.8 on the lens. I notice it most on low light situations. At sunset it was grainy as well. It's a used lens, so maybe it's just the condition it's in? I hope all 2.8's aren't like this. My 20mm which is 2.8 isn't as bad as this grain on the lens...
