I have an 8ft wide work table thing I've had for years at home. Plenty of room for monitors and keyboard at one end and paperwork and other stuff at the other end. Its ugly but its strong and works great. At work I have a corner shaped desk from Bush and an extension off one side. Monitors tuck nicely into the corner and the extension gives me alot of space for notes and sandwiches.

its the series A stuff. Kinda cheap but it has held up well for the last two years.

Go to Fry's electronics

It's a fogged glass corner desk with enough space for 2 elevated 23 apple displays & a laptop w/ 19 in monitor. Also 7 external harddrives & dv deck. STILL plenty of room....

They actually used the desk in season 2 or 3 of "24." If it's good enough for Jack Bauer, it's good enough for YOU.

It's also only 100 bucks or so....

This is what I have:

Pieces from Ikea put together for a complete desk. Don't think they have these exact pieces still but probably something similar. Shane Ross also went the Ikea route for his new sweet as well.

Skeeter...is that a PVM-14 series monitor? I have one of those...

Here is my setup...I made the desk myself from bits and pieces found at IKEA...as Skeeter said.

I just built a nice 72inch desk for about $100 I just copied the idea from a $2000 desk. If you can you should try and build it.

On this note, does anyone know a good source for keyboard trays? All the ones I seem to find online are expensive and kind of ugly. My desk is white and I'd like to find a white one.

You can go to Home Depot, Lowes, or most other decent hardware stores, and pick up the rails really cheap, and then pick up a piece of real wood for the tray. You can paint it or stain it any way you want. And, since you are doing it yourself, you can make it any width to suit your needs.

While we're on the topic.....

Anyone here have a desk tall enough you can stand and work at?
It may sound odd to some, but I really want to switch out my desk for one I can work at standing up - I can't help but think it would wind up being more comfortable and keep me more alert (and keep me from sitting for hours on end with horrible posture).

It might be that I prefer that because I used to work in radio - and all the production rooms at the stations are set up that way.

Anyhow - just curious if anyone has a setup like that.

My desk is an Ikea wood kitchen surface, with a cutout and dropped down front center section for my A3 tablet. It's attached to the wall behind, and stood on 2 telescopic 'bar legs', so you can make it as tall as you want.

I've a mate who works standing up. He swears by it.
